View Full Version : Eliminating Preferred Miles Credit for car rental, hotel???

Under the old USAir program, I received miles counting toward status for car rentals from airports (AVIS) and hotel stays (Hilton brands). When the new system emerged online, I check my miles and found that they only credited me for "bonus" miles. I called the Dividend Miles center and an unconvincing operator informed me that "they never gave status miles for rentals and hotels" --- which is absolutely false. Unfortunately, I never printed up my old credits and could not prove this on paper. If it matters, I've been Gold for four years. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any advice?

First, welcome to FT.

My memory of Dividend Miles only goes back to 1988. I do not ever remember receiving Tier Miles for cars or hotels. Sorry.

I agree, AB. We've only ever gotten bonus miles on hotels/cars since the beginning.

I do miss getting the little certs with awards tickets for 50% off on car and hotel rez though. That was a nice perk that I used frequently.
