I have booked a flight through USAir which is PHL-DEN-SLC and return SLC-ORD-PHL. Other than the first leg, they are all United flights (as codeshare). I have had no luck switching to E+ seats (I'm *S) by calling United or USAir for these flights. I also couldn't check in online on United website so that I could switch my seats. One problem may be that on the outgoing, my first leg is on USAir so had to check in on USAir website. Any ideas on how to check in online on the return United flights, and book myself in to E+ seats. I've never had this problem before.

Call the UA 2P line - I'll PM the # to you. They should give you any E+ seat except Exit Row (that's for *G and above). If you have trouble - ask for a supervisor.

Or used the prefered method when you call UA and don't get help or answer you need: say "thank you," hand up and call again

But the chances of an overseas call centre are the same.

Alot of the supervisors are here in the US.
