I am looking for fares from PHL to CDG in August. They have 5 choices from which to pick (Coach-restricted, Coach-Unrestricted, etc.). Then underneath that you search by Lowest Fare for flexible dates or by Schedule for fixed dates. The fare comes up at $1068.00 + taxes. I cannot find the fare class. How is it possible to check M, H or Q fares (I think they are the TA upgradeable fares) so that I may be able to upgrade using miles? I know it must be right in front of my eyes but I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

I believe that the only way to do it is by telephone. They do not disclose fare basis on their website, sadly.

Go to expedia and pick the same flights and then click rules and restrictions.

The old search by price feature is going to be sadly missed.
You can still however go and see the prices and restrictions on US Airways fares (but can't book them) at http://fs.usairways.com/abs/fareQuote.do

I'll second that. Speaking for myself, I absolutely HATE the new website. I don't think that there is ONE single feature about it that I prefer over the old website. I spent a few hours over the weekend navigating through it in an effort to "warm up to it" before posting my views. However, after pensive evaluation, I can firmly say that the new web site SUCKS! What happened to the UA codeshare flights?; The searching by flight time on the new site gives you FAR, FAR fewer options than the old sight; Can you no longer apply e-upgrades online?; You can no longer see the fare classes ---- I certainly hope that they are planning on fixing the many, many problems with the new site soon!

This was a really helpful post. This has to be buried deep in the bowels of the US web site. I've bookmarked it. Thanks.

PremiumSeat, you no longer have to "apply e-upgrades online" - the upgrade process for elites will be completely automatic as with the old America West system.

I e-mailed tech support about the search by price feature. I also asked what the hell happened to codeshare flights. Will advise on the response.

I'm certainly not disputing that this is true, however, why then does it show me a coach cabin seat map when booking travel within my upgrade window where there is "E" availability rather than under the old system, telling me that "Premium Class is Available" and directing me to select a premium class seat?
