:td: Anyone noticed the new US website does not list what types of aircraft USAirways flies?..The old website listed each aircraft and the new one says nothing about aircraft..you would think this would be basic info about an airline..I allways get a good chuckle looking at the B757 seating chart for USAir..8 seats in First Class..OMG..and you people put up with it,lol.

I don't. I and many others are now flying US approaching 90% less than we did last year. As you point out with just one symptom, US under its current senior executives has turned into a haphazard replica of its former self (HP/US). It's a very slow crowd with no integration experience, as you point out.

Probably can't say too much since there are still differences among the fleet. Until they convert the cabins and merge the certificate it would be difficult at best. If you are on a US 757 there are 8 F and 185 Y seats, but on an HP 757 there are 14 F and 176 Y seats, same for the 320 US has 16F and 126 Y, while the HP 320 has 12F and 138 Y. The US 733 has 12 F and 112 Y and the 734 has 12F and 132 Y, but the HP 733 has 8 F and 126 Y. And finally on the US 319 there are 12 F and 108 Y, but the HP 319 has 8 F and 112 Y. I didn't bother to look at USX or HP Express.

That is a good point Dukeman. And, because they are repainting both fleets simultaneously, it is not like they could just have a two brand seat map page.
Also, the US A 321 has 26 F seats. I will bet you anything and everything that when they combine their certificates there will be no more than 12 F seats on any aircraft, except 767's and 330's. And I will bet those will have no more than 24 F seats.

There is a post someplace else on the US board that it is unlikely that US would scrap the 321 config, because of weight issues associated with extra passengers and baggage affecting lift. Something to the effect that the plane already climbs like a wounded turkey, etc...
I took so aero eng classes and the person seemed to know their stuff... but I of course didn't sit down and do the calculations... I'm too busy trying to figure how to get one of those F seats on the 321.

With all of the CP's in our company, we have found this:
On the 321 at the 7 day upgrade window, if there are 9 or fewer remaining available seats on any US 321, they are all held for revenue until 29 minutes before departure. It's an absurd approach to losing customers. Remember, at 7 days in advance, with 9 empty seats, 15 to 17 seats have already been sold (maybe a maximum of 2 were redeemed for miles).

You have to dig, but the aircraft data (http://www2.usairways.com/awa/content/aboutus/pressroom/fleet.aspx) is there - buried in the "Press Room" section of the "About US Airways" page.
As someone mentioned, it's somewhat general given the different configurations of the two fleets.

Wow, have never really noticed this before. HP really crams us into Y on their planes when compared to US!

No offense, but having been elite on Delta and NW... I am not overly impressed by Skyteam. I would say CO is not too bad... but I do prefer UA over them.

Not true. HP A319's have 12 F seats just like the A320's.

Then please explain why me (SP) and my companion (no status) got upgraded at the 2 day window when there were 7 F seats available for tomorrow's PHL-SFO flight.

The short, short answer is that he won't explain because he's making it up.
