I booked a trip to EVV, not served by US. I'm flying US (HP) PHX-ORD and AA ORD-EVV. When I view my reservation online, I can see the AA segment on US.com, and I can see the US segment on AA.com. If I check my bag in at PHX will it go all the way to EVV or do I need to pick it up and recheck with AA?

As long as it's one PNR (which it sounds like), they will tag your bag all the way to EVV; no need to pick it up.

If you really need your luggage at the other end, carry it on board. I've got less than a 50/50 hit rate on my luggage being there when going from 1 airline to another, including codeshare. Of course it's not that great when you stay with US. Flew with a coworker this week, US to UA transfer at ORD and his never made it.....then US to US in PHL on his return, lost it again!! And another coworker met us there who flew HP through PHX and his didn't make it either. Now I know why I quit checking bags....I like to have my clothes when I arrive and US doesn't seem to know how to make that happen.

Funny you should mention this. I flew with a co-worker PHL-DEN this week. His bag never made it...showed up at 2 AM.
Another person in the meeting flew CLT-DEN. His efforts were a comedy of errors, as he was transferred by phone all over the place. 2 days later, they figured out his bag was in Boise !
BTW - At the DEN airport in baggage services, there are 2 people "working". One of whom was very busy with lost baggage requests, the second....reading a book. When approached, employee #2 says..."I just handle lost baggage requests for HP". The freaking office says US Airways...and she is wearing a US Airways uniform ! Can we please get this "merger related item" resolved?
