My family and I always grab a room at Novotel-SVO for the 6 hour deal when passing through Moscow headed here to Novosibirsk. What used to be $99 plus taxes is now about $200 total. That's a lot for 6 hours only. Does anyone know if the nearby Hotel Sheremetyevo offers a 6 hour layover or day rate for people with long layovers? Do they have a free shuttle that picks you up and drops you off? We're just looking for a place to nap close to SVO2 so these two places are really our only choices. Any experiences, good or bad, with Hotel Sheremetyevo??

You better stay away from this hotel if you don't want to experience Soviet service and standards.

Since SVO is basically in the middle of nowhere, I'm afraid the only real alternative to Novotel is a first class lounge in the SVO2 terminal.

What about if arriving in business and connecting on SU in Y?

I'm expecting very little so this might work. I'm only looking for a place to basically let me, my wife, and 3 sons take a 6 hour nap. The main desire is to have a pick up at SVO2 and a drop off at SVO1 . We'll sleep (and have) anywhere in between.

And their website does mention a complimentary shuttle from/to SVO1 & SVO2: http://www.Sheremetyevo-2.ru/en/about.php

Aeroflot states that this lounge is available for first and business class passengers with destination to 58 foreign airports. They also have a lounge in SVO1. I'm sure both lounges are not available for economy class passengers even when traveling in Y.

However, when I mentioned the SVO2 lounge I meant it's open for Priority Pass holders.

They mention on the Russian version of this page hourly rates for stays under 6 hours and half day rates for stays of 6-12 hours.

EDIT: Oops, these rates are for late check-outs only :(
