Anyone seen the National Geographic ‘Seconds from Disaster’ episode about the flight LY1862 crash in Amsterdam?
Watched it last night here in the UK, has it been broadcasted in Israel yet?

That plane crashed into an apartment building. There is a black-humor joke about this - "Fly LY - the only airline that brings you all the way to your apartment!" :)

"Seconds from disaster" and the show about airline crash invastigating are those I watch the most on the NG channel. I'll have to look for this episode on their Israeli broadcast.

Yes me too, very interesting programs.
Some of the 'seconds from disaster' programs could definitely come under 'Aircraft investigation', like the Amsterdam one and others.

I must also watch out for the next repeat of it as it was on so late I fell asleep in the last 20 minutes of the program (I tried to stay awake I really did...)

For some reason, that crash embedded itself in my memory in the same way as major disasters like the first shuttle crash, the shooting of Ronald Reagan, etc.

I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard about this crash. Although I live in the US, I just happened to be in Israel, in front of a bonfire/koomzeetz somewhere in the Galil.
