We have a booking for the Mark Hopkins but came across the website for the Nikko and looks really nice!
Are any of you familiar with it?
What are the Imperial Club rooms like? And is the Club lounge any good?
I did find one thread about this hotel but its over 2 years old with not much info, so I would be grateful for some input from anyone who is familiar with it.
Thanks!

Sorry, all the years I lived in or near San Francisco, I've never set foot inside this place. If I recall correctly, KKSF (Smooth Jazz) used to broadcast from here for their Sunday Jazz Brunch.
Trip Advisor does have some recent reviews here:

A client of mine stayed there a few years ago and liked it. I can't tell you much beyond that it seems like a nice 4 star with a Japanese motif. Its location is much closer to the culture than the Mark Hopkins (symphony, ballet, opera, theater, night clubs are all within about a mile).

I liked the Nikko -- however, it has been a few years since my stay there. The service was attentive and quick and the rooms were clean and comfortable. I recall that the first room was small so I paid for an upgrade to a larger room.
The post above is correct about the "soft jazz" brunch, which promotes a specific atmosphere which may or may not be to the OP's liking. There used to be a Nikko in Chicago that I would stay at from time to time BTW.

I haven't stayed there in about 4 years, but I enjoyed it when I did. Very well appointed in a sleek modern way. I remember being particularly pleased that by positioning the mirror correctly, I could soak in a hot bath and watch the television. A nice way to relax after an overfull day of meetings.
