I forget now where I stumbled across this the other day, but:
http://www.gowestchoicehotels.com/
is a strange site that is for Choice Hotels but only in three southwest states, and which accepts Choice Priveleges numbers in your reservation (implying you can get points for all those rates unique to this site) but doesn't have a facility for logging in.
It defaults to a GO WEST rate which is just a tad lower than any oher some nights at Comfort Suites Santa Ana CA, for example, but not as good as the Internet User's Rate across the street at the Quality Suites on the same nights, for another example.
It also has a Thanks for Travleing rate, which -- NO thanks! -- is way higher than most other rates!
At the bottom, it also has a Travel Planner (enter starting and ending address) which is not a feature I remember seeing on the main Choice site.
Anyone know of similar regional Chioce sites for other parts of the country (that have such alternate rates)?
PS. It's not clear to me whether booking online with a Visa at THIS site will earn you any bonus, since on the main site it specifies using a Visa specifically at choicehotels.com.
