this is probabley in the wrong place, if so please guide me to the right place.
I need to go from NY to xiamen china I need to be there for 2 days (tues wed, or wed thursday) I do not want to miss a weekend with my family so I need to fly from ny on saturday night or sunday morning and return to be home by friday night. Being such a crazy trip i want to fly 1st class (or a business class with fully flat, not slanted seats) I only need the long stretch to be in 1st, Here is the catch I need to do this for $5000 what would be my options? or advice? I can fly in to hong kong or shanghai or any other place where i can connect to xiamen

i know, but where can i find the china experts, i know they are out here somewhere, I currently see on ita if i book one way nyc-xmn i get a 3000 fare on china eastern which is really aa, i am seaarching for a 2000 fare back, i think tpe might work

This is one example where "ITA -- Search Within 200 mile radius)" won't work.

To get from Xiamen China to Taipei Taiwan, you would have to either switch planes in an acceptable 3rd territory (i.e. Hong Kong or Macau) which might take 5-8 hours and cost two more flights.

OR,

Swim from Xiamen to Kinmen (Taiwan) illegally without getting caught by either side, somehow get a stamp in your passport for legal entry into Taiwan, fly from Kinmen to Taipei, and then fly out from Taipei. ;)

NY to Guangzhou in Continental or Air China direct, and from Guangzhou to Xiaman.

Excellent point - Your best bet is to find a cheap ticket to a gateway, anywhere in China and buy a cheap intra-China ticket to get to Xiamen

There is also the option of flying to Bangkok, and connecting with AirAsia (http://www.airasia.com) , who flies to Xiamen. I picked a few random dates BKK-XMN, got $47+ o/w.
