Insulting as it was to suddenly be charged for alchohol and water, I notice this week that the signs that used to say something like "Thank You, but it is our pleasure to service you". The essence of it was that they kind of discouraged tipping the bar person. Now, I see if both PHX and LAS that there are tipping glasses with a few bucks in them. So tipping is now encouraged?

I know the new beverage policies are not the fault of the bar folks, but now I feel like Doug is telling us that these folks are getting raises any time soon, so please help them out.

It's just sad.

Sounds like MR. Parker or whomever bean counter stopped the $50 per day
"in lieu of tip" bonus that was paid to the bar help so that tips were unnecessary. I sure wish CO had merged with HP and not US Air :td:

At the CLT clubs, the bar help works for the food vender employed by the airport (Host I think), not US.

I saw that yesterday at the PHX US Club (the one above A6). Ouch..... didn't bother to ask for my bottled water however knowing I didn't have any physical cash with me.
