Yet again I find myself with expiring DMUTAs (2 x one way Transatlantic upgrades + companion certificates.) They clearly state "Complete Travel by: 04/30/2006." Has anyone had luck in booking the travel prior to the expiration date, but travelling after? Specifically I'd like to book immediately upgradeable B fares now and travel in November.

I realize that they can be traded in for a whopping 2K miles total, but that's a little depressing. :(

Alternatively, if anyone would like to subsidize an upgradeable ticket to anywhere in Europe for moi before the end of the month, I'd be happy to upgrade them as my companion! :D ;)

I've been lucky to have the expiration date extended by a week or two after getting the runaround between DMSC and the CP desk. Not sure, but 6+ months may be pushing it... :(

The miles are better than getting nothing. I have one left too.

For TA travel in late May, I had no luck using those certs which I still have. I put forward the argument that since every Preferred gets status extended until "late spring", shouldn't the status benefits get extended too? Moreover, I still haven't received my CP package with the new 2006/07 DMUs to use for the May trip. CP Desk supervisor said she was sorry, but US will not extend the time limit on those certs. Oh well, I just used Miles to upgrade our "B" fares.
