With all the grousing lately, I thought I would share:

Background: My wife and I are living in different cities for a little bit, her in PHX and me in SFO.

4/8 9:00am: Wife calls, and decides she misses me.

4/8 9:30am: I call HP, and they find an award saver seat (25K RT) leaving SAT @ 6pm and returning MON @ 7pm. I ask about standby on an earlier flight, and am told it is sold out, but give it a shot.

4/8 2:30pm: I head to SFO, and scramble through security (where I filled out a survey for the TSA :rolleyes: ). I get to the gate, present my 6:10pm BP, and the GA says, hey you want 3C on the 3:39pm? I say sure, but how? Her reponse, "I have no one to upgrade!, you are CP, and I have 1 seat on the plane in F." ^

4/8 3:30pm: Ordering pre-flight cocktail :D

So in the grand scheme of things that was pretty nice and handy. I leave tonight, and I am not expecting the same treatement, but we will see. So with all the bad, this little bit of good was perfect.

ugg didn't realize it was so transparent. . . get your mind out of the gutter, that's my wife.

oddly, got the same deal on the way "home" A320, F went out 11/12 with me in the front.

Nothing new within the HP system. My mom occasionally gets upgrades on awards tickets and she's only silver. I've received plenty on PHX-OAK/SFO.

Now I can't say it would work on the US side of the house.

I usually get ones when flying out of PHX, but when flying from Reno to PHX they are all gobbled up
