Just received a fax from WS saying some smaller changes being made, including:
On Wednesday, April 12, 2006, the following changes to WestJet’s fee structure will be introduced:
Kennel fees (checked and cabin) will change from $40 per one-way trip to $50 per one-way trip.
Change and cancel fees will go from $30 to $40 per booking. This change is for bookings that are changed and/or cancelled after the day of booking.
A same-day cancel fee of $20 will be introduced for bookings made and then cancelled on the same business day through our Sales Super Centre and airports channels. This fee will only be charged if the guest wants a full refund, not if they choose to keep the money in a credit file.
Same-day cancellations made online or through the GDS system will not be charged a cancellation fee. All monies will be refunded to the credit card used to make the original purchase. The cancellation fee is automatically charged online; however, you WILL receive a full refund, including the cancellation fee, on your credit card. Your bank will process the refund to your credit card, usually within five business days.
We believe these slight increases to our airline’s current fees enable WestJet to remain competitive, address our fiscal responsibility and continue to provide our guests with high value services and options. It is important to note that with these fee increases, WestJet still compares very favourably against our competitors.
