I'm sure the OP would like some info regarding his questions, I don't think he is looking for companions for the flight...
bundi404 You can expect a good flight, seats are comfy although not Flat bed or even 'flat bed style' so not very modern.
Try and get one of the seats on the side which are rows of 2 rather then the middle rows of 3 and you don't want to sit in the middle seat and have to clime over your neighbors to get out.
IFE is OK, not great there is no VOD, but usually the selection of movies isn’t bad.
Service should be very good, I honestly think they make one hell of an effort and usually are very good at it too.
The HKG route is a 'Platinum' service so you will get a better meal then the standard Business class meal, and will be served the different courses separately, rather then them brining it all at once on one tray.
Not sure about the Lounge in HKG but it’s not a proper ElAl King David lounge but a shared one.
Enjoy!

The Lounge in HKG is nice. Good food though not Kosher, Magnum ice cream bars, drinks, etc.

regarding the ife i assume its ptv? also i assume you meant the seats are the older ones, so what is the pitch angle? another quick question i am not sure if it goes here but after the tlv flight i will be going to mnl with cx. this is all on one ticket but A. will my bags be sent through to cx or do i have to pick them up. 2. i was told elal cannot give me my cx boarding pass, if this is true when i land with tlv is there a cx tranist desk nearby or do i need to take the monorail in the airport? thanks for all the help.

I've done both economy and business. Business is much more relaxing although since the seats are the Platinum ones with the 7-9 or so electronic controls and the bendy light they are far from flat. The service is far superior to the back of the bus. Is it worth the extra points? That depends upon what you want to use the points for. If I was flying onwards then I might be just as happy to fly economy since I can sleep in economy almost as well though. If I had meetings when landing in HKG I'd prefer the business so I am more able to tackle the day.

I would have to agree with yosithezet
It really depends also on how many Matmid points you have to blow, but using them for a Business class trip is always the best value on a long flight (its questionable on the shorter European flights)
Service in Economy is good but it’s not Business/Platinum and the differences would be just as they are on any other airline.
Personally I would go for it (Business that is :) )

I would never blow the points for a business seat though. I've only sat in business on "last-minute upgrades" which for the HKG-TLV route is 100 Matmid points for each direction. That said I should be saving them for free tickets to NA for the family rather than pampering myself.

Being gold you have a good chance of a last minute upgrade, but I believe the OP is not a Gold member (unless I am mistaken) and therefore the chances of him being upgraded are extremely slim.
If I did not have that many points and did not have much travel planed I would definitely blow points on Business class on a long flight like this one, but then it really does depend on what you are saving your points for and saving them for a family trip is always good.

If you are in a dilemna, then dont fly business. Flights to HKG are usually very quiet and peaceful. Most of the pax are business travellers.
If I were you I would save the extra points and use them in the future after LY install the new Flat beds in Platinum.
They rae expected to start installation before the summer.

Ok. 10" personal video screen (Business), 6" (Economy), a personal satellite telephone at each seat (Business), a personal adjustable reading lamp (Business), a connection point for laptop computer (a personal 15V connection at each seat on 777 aircraft and adapter plugs for the asking for other connections), option of 4 movie channels, 1 documentary, 1 cartoon channel and 1 General channel.
Depending on aircraft you will also be serviced with Wireless Internet (for a fee) which as well as offering general internet access, also offers you the following LIVE television channels: BBC World, EuroNews, Eurosportnews, CNBC & MSNBC.
Finally in the Audio department there are a selection of 12 channels of various genres’, classical, jazz, rock etc.
And that's your lot...I think? If I’m missing anything then please inform me.
Alternatively check the website.
