Any more details as to what you are looking for? To/from airport? Within city service?

Good question - we're going to be going from YYZ to the Park Hyatt and vice versa in May - probably not going to rent a car so wondering about cost difference between cab & car service.

For a straight back and forth, the easiest way is to grab an airport limo (usually lincoln's or cadillac's) - they are at the curb and very nice and comfortable. It will be about $5 more than a cab (all flat rate)

Airport to Marriott downtown, thanks for your help. Do they operate all hours? I have to meet a couple of VIPs who are coming in late on a Friday night.

Pretty much 24 hrs, the airport is closed for take off and landings between midnight and 6 a.m. so they won't be as readily available. If you need one during that time, let me know and I can get you the url of one of the services so you can prebook.

Their flight gets in Friday night at 9:51 pm, coming from the US. So even with customs they should be down at baggage before midnight so I should be ok do you think?

It will be fine. Even very late hours cars are available. I've arrived after official landing hours and still been able to get a car.
Here's the rate list, by the way: GTAA Limo Rates (http://www.gtaa.com/Index.aspx?Sid=Node2/Node2.3/Node2.3.3&Tpl=1). Effective May 1st, the rate to the downtown hotels will be between 50 and 54 dollars, depending on the specific hotel. All limos take credit cards.
For going back, any airport car service will give the same rate. Airline Limo or Airflight have the most cars.

We've used "Airline Limos" (brand name) for many years to and from YYZ to our home, about a 20 minute ride away. Prebooked, they've always arrived to pick us up on time, even in the wee hours of the morning, for a 6 AM flight. Excellent service, clean cars (Lincolns or Caddies) and set rates. They have a website, with phone numbers, including "800" numbers, listed. For travelers arriving at YYZ, you can request one of their cars from the limo lineup by asking the guard at the lineup, or just looking for their cars. Tip: all their limos have license plates starting with "FLY", ie., FLY-051, etc.

I would second using Airline Limo and setting up a pickup in advance.
Usually picking up a curbside limo is not an issue. But as an example last Friday I came into Terminal 1 around 7pm and there must have been 100 people lined up for a limo.
I always pre-book just to be on the safe side.

Thanks to everyone who responded. We ended up renting a car, because additional errands became important, and the rental car price was cheap. I'm not sure if we broke even or not after paying the hotel parking fees however!
Anyway when we did the pick up, on Friday evening, the whole airport was very busy and crammed with people, cars, buses, etc. I was glad we had the rental, as my husband circled while I waited for the arrivals.
Toronto overall was very fun and interesting so I am going to keep this info for our next trip!
