Does anyone have an update on when the conversion from Aladdin to Planet Hollywood will be completed?

I don't know, but I will be staying at the Aladdin property in a bit over two weeks. Despite the construction, the reviews I have seen have been consistently been good.

Not a specific update but it's slated for mid to Sept 06.

Grand opening is scheduled for December 2006. Among others, see post 331 of the Aladdin Master Thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5045042&postcount=331). I've seen no indication of this changing yet.

There will continue to be more work into 2007, though, in the Desert Passage and at the new adjoining Westgate Towers. Also see VegasTodayAndTomorrow.com (http://www.vegastodayandtomorrow.com/planeth.htm).

Currently, painting is continuing on the exterior of the hotel. Construction has begun for the new entrance from the Strip sidewalk to the Mezzanine level and to the Desert Passage Mall. The south pool remains closed and doesn't have a definite opening date, but the north pool is open, weather permitting. Construction continues inside parts of the casino, too. The temporary walls in the area between the casino and the Performing Arts Center have been removed -- they were temporary walls while they lowered the domed ceiling there.
