I'm staying overnight at the St Francis in Union Square. I'd like a suggestion for a place to park for 36 - 48 hours, no in and out needed. I'm willing to walk 1/4 - 1/2 mile. I'd like my car to be safe (I guess that means indoors).
Ideas?

Well, Union Square itself sits right over an underground parking garage.
Better rates and still fairly close are the Sutter-Stockton and Ellis-O'Farrell garages on the corners of the aforementioned streets.
Every garage in that area is multi-story and roofed, so your car should be safe.

There are also a couple of private lots that have "hotel special" rates - one right across from the Hilton and another within a block or two. I believe they are about $30 a night and have in/out. Sutter Stockton is $33 for 24 hours - this would be my first choice if I didn't need in/out. Union Sq. garage says $30 - but it is a really annoying garage.

Thanks, for the link to the SF Garages and the advice. I'm going to a meeting at the Hotel Nikko, so I think Ellis-O'Farrell will work the best, and will probably be the easiest to get back on the road to Santa Cruz at 5PM or so.
