OK. It's my home town. But it's hard to find better pizza ANYWHERE, not just in Anchorage. MOOSE'S TOOTH pizza is best. My favorite is the "Popeye" with spinach and feta cheese. It's especially wonderful since NOBODY else in my family likes it. I can eat the whole thing while they choke down some Canadian bacon/pepperoni deal. BEST PIZZA IN NOME ALASKA? It's at the airport. Airport Pizza. In fact, the local airlines deliver the pizza FREE to surrounding villages, including Savoonga and Gambell on St. Lawrence Island. Get out the atlas. It's a trip. Here's a link:

Hard as it is to believe Moose Tooth really does have great pizza (it would thrive in NYC). One of the few good restaurants in ANC, which is otherwise fairly bleak for food.

Another great restaurant in ANC is Jens' (Danish seafood, using fine Alaskan fish -- better than in Denmark). The hours are eccentric (the owner is the chef and works when he wants to) but worth the effort to eat there.
