Traveling to Vegas in April and looking for a top-notch hotel. So far I'm down to 2 hotels.

1. Wynn Las Vegas (Salon suite) ~800/night
2. Skylofts MGM. (1bedroom suite) ~790/night

I've stayed at the Wynn before in the parlor suite. Very elegant but was trying to find something a bit more contemporary. Read allot about Skylofts. Anyone have any recommendations on which has better views/service/rooms, etc..? Also, if you know of any different hotels I haven’t found please list.

Thanks,

Thanks,

The MGM Skylofts have typical MGM service which, IME is below par. Consider the Four Seasons in the main MB tower (separate entrance but you have ready access to the MB Casino), great views, excellent service and you will not find better appointed rooms on the strip.

Good Luck

I have stayed at the Lofts 3 times in the last year.
Butler, Concierge, Maybach service. All top notch.
The service on the 29th floor is completly different than regular MGM. IMHO.

If you "do" the Skyloft. Get a room on the strip side. Great view of NY.NY
Make use of the concierge for Show Tix or Restaurant VIP seating.
My girl loved the spa treatment they did in the small Skyloft Spa.

IMHO. Skylofts is the best room in Veags for the $ 800.00 a night average.
If your a high roller, Yes you can do better.

But for the nice modern room, Personal butler, Maybach transfers, Limo
around town, good concierge service. And dont forget the "Infinity Tub".
Love the "Rain Shower" that you can enjoy with about 10 people if you wanted. Great sound system, and a very comfortable bed.

I vote Skylofts !
Call Jessica. She is the Concierge Manager.

Enjoy

If you're looking for an ultra-contemporary room with the butler-concierge-Maybach trip, Skyloft is your only choice. I agree the Northwest view is the best but the airport view is also cool. Northeast is worst.

And if you have a AMEX Plat card, you may want to try booking either one through the FHR program:

Wynn is the best hotel in town. The rooms are more elegant than contemporary and the service is traditional hotel service, not butlers.

Staying next week at a Wynn Salon Suite. Previously I tried the Parlor Suite and thought it was elegant and spacious. After looking at the Sky Lofts at MGM, it made the decision harder. It seems like you get more for the money at the sky lofts for the one bedroom suite. However, I just can't imagine staying at the MGM hotel compared to Wynn. The common areas (Pools, lobby, restaurants, bars, casino, spas, etc) and general service is much finer than at MGM, IMHO. I am just not a fan of MGM. Way to Big!

Am I making a mistake?

I got a 3-night stay booked there in April and am wondering if you get complimentary limo transportation on the strip? I keep hearing different things from different people, can anyone please shed some light on this for me?

Thanks! :)

On 2 of my 3 trips "Limo around town" was included. If you are already booked, you have an assigned concierge that has e-mailed you. E-Mail them back and ask if included. It should be. Especially if you are rated and/or have a host.

The time it was not included for us was when we only did a "1 night upgrade" from downstairs "last minute". I did not push them for it either.
The other trips were "3 nights Skylofts w/weekend rates and it was included.

Tip:
Go down to the Limo area. Let them know you are "Skylofts".
Normally there is a "Skylofts Cap" in the area by the Limos and Maybach.
The guy with the earpiece and Skylofts vest. Give a tip and get the limo.

Enjoy !

Cool - thanks a lot, I'll try both e-mailing the concierge and your tip as well. :)

Have you been to the MGM recently? The common areas, lounges, and restaurants have been completely renovated in the last couple years and are now among the best in town.

If I was still undecided in this situation, I'd check MGM's calendar of events. Staying 6 nights in September, I found a huge difference in the crowd level midweek and our 'fight night' weekend. If MGM is quiet event-wise during your time, it may be another reason to try the Skyloft.

I agree with QuietLion, the MGM is full of freshly renovated restaurants (on the whole, ignoring the Rainforest Cafe...).

As you are considering the Skyloft instead of going back to Wynn, I imagine you'll be swayed by the response of your SL concierge/host.

Add to the FT knowledge bank on Skyloft or the Wynn suite, for those of us whose trips to the strip are from further afield! :D

Cheers

I'm at the Wynn Salon Suite now. I have to say the Mr. Wynn did a great job with the suite. The huge expanse of windows overlooking the strip is amazing. The 50" flat screen tv hanging on the window is a great location. You are watching tv with the entire Vegas Strip as your backdrop...wow!

The massage room is a great touch as well. Nicely appointed. The bed is of course their signature feature in the hotel. Extremely comfortable. The bathroom is massive, the shower has many heads (including a rainshower head for that heavy water feeling, and the living room is nicely appointed with a marble floor and carpet inlay. There is a full service bar with stools and a dining room table as well.

There is much more in the room but I am getting tired of writing and would rather be downstairs enjoying the rest of this great hotel. :D

Staying at Skylofts in June...booked through LHW... They told me "Limo around town" not included and that they changed this policy a while back ?! I'll just tip the skycap, I guess...

As for original topic, we'll be staying 2 nights in Parlor Suite at Wynn and then 2 nights at Skylofts....best of both worlds !
