I remember reading about buying discount or half price coupons which just covered the $30 menu and you got 25cent martinis - cant find the thread or the link site - any body know of it or can point me in the right direction Thanks Gwen

You can get $25 dining certificates to Commander's Palace from Restaurant.com for $10. There's usually a 50% off coupon floating around, and is pretty easy to find via a search.
I had dinner there last night, and I used the dining certificate from restaurant.com. I had the 50% off coupon, so I basically had a $25 dining certificate for $5. The restrictions were that you had to spend at least $35 and it was for dinner only. (Though, there have been reports of people being allowed to use the dining certificate for lunch.)
The $0.25 martinis are an ongoing special at Commander's Palace. See their website for details.

One other restriction that often rules out restaurant.com dining certificates for solo business travellers: "Valid for parties of 2 or more unless otherwise stated."
Some Aladdin hotel guests have reported a coupon available from the hotel concierge for free dessert, but getting this coupon book might require a coupon available only when checking into the hotel on certain promotional rates. Can't hurt to ask the concierge, though.

I used it for lunch and they had no problem taking it, but I was more than willing to pay for the entire price if they weren't going to take it. (I only paid $3 for mine and was willing to give it to friends in Vegas for them to use at dinner some time.)
The quarter martinis are a lunch promotion.

One of these coupons is available in the Passport to Savings coupon book from the Desert Passage concierge. Free with a coupon from the front desk or with your AAA card.
Complimentary world famous Banana Foster dessert with purchase of two entrees. One coupon per person. Not valid with any other offers.

I got mine upon check in. The sheet of coupons I got with the promotional rate I used had a coupon for a "Las Vegas Survival Kit" which had the free desert coupon.
Btw, I had a pretty good meal there. The service was excellent. I had the 3-soup sampler, the pecan crusted fish, and the bananas foster. The soups were black bean, turtle, and gumbo. The black bean was o.k., and I don't think I care for turtle, but the gumbo was excellent. The pecan crusted fish was also excellent - everything on the plate worked well together - the sauces, the fish, the greens, etc... The bananas foster was very good - I could have done with more ice cream, but then I'm just being greedy.
I was dining solo, and they seated me near the bar with a view of the television - I was there during March Madness, so I appreciated being able to follow the games.
