If I fly paid business on USAIR do flights count faster towards qualification (as they do on UA and AA?) If so, does this count for *A airlines like LH?
I've got two LH flights in paid C this summer and wonder if I should apply it to US or UA to get maximum benefit--should be worth *gold if there is a 150% bonus.

Different carriers get a different Class of Service Bonus. Here is the link:
but do the bonus miles count for status?
Not this year. Last year they gave class of service EQM bonuses for full fare coach (Y & B) and paid Biz and First. This year the EQM bonuses are gone, and so am I – over to UA. The loss of EQM bonuses is the number one reason I’ve moved my annual $10k - $15k spend away from US.

I believe paid F and C on US earns the 50% bonus as EQMs, but Y and B do not. Also on a recent (February/March) UA trip in paid C I earned 150% EQMs and 250% RDMs with the CP 100% bonus, so the 50% COS miles did count as preferred miles.

My experience was the same.

It is the same for HP, paid F gets you a 50% bonus that is EQM.

just curious, how do you make CP spending $15,000/year? You're in Philly, so limited connections, right? And you're flying a lot of Y/B/F? I need to get on your elite qualifying plan! :D

Here's a theory:
20 PHL-SFO (or west coast destination of your choice) trips a year at roughly (rounded down, actually) 5K miles each.
This gets you 100K miles and CP based on miles, not segments.
If average ticket price was $500/trip, then $10K.
All this math and from an English teacher, no less! :D

Actually its by doing a TON of transcons on government Y fares. Cheap to purchase (good for all of us tax payers) and last year at least US gave a 50% EQM bonus. So I earned about 7500 EQM and 10000 RDM per trip. It only takes about 14 trips to make top tier with the 50% bonus. Throw in a little personal travel and 2 hops to LGW (also in gov Y!) and its even fewer transcons. Now that the EQM bonus is gone on US I'm over to UA who still offers it. Made 1k on UA in less than 6 months last year!
