Anyone in Portland or Seattle interested in forming a local mileage run group? Primary functions would be to keep each other abreast of local mileage run opportunities, potentially split costs on hotel or rental car if mileage run requires overnight stay and provide lounge-access when travelling together. Any thoughts?

I've wondered about this too, and I personally think it should be fun (would consider joining you). However, it seems you fly for SkyTeam, which isn't my preferred alliance.

Hey Jef7,
Thanks for writing. My hope is there will be enough folks such that various mileage plan requirements can be met. It has not been uncommon for folks to find great deals on airlines they don't typically fly but can share with others that do.
Rick (above) expressed an interest and appears to be a UA flyer as well. Depending on interest, I am planning on setting up a yahoogroups account for sharing information. You are welcome to give it a try. Keep me posted.

I wouldn't mind making mileage run friends, but I'm not really interested in checking another site for info. Why not share the info here?

I'm a mileage runner from SEA. I prefer SkyTeam or Star but most recently, I've been mileage running on Oneworld.
It's a great idea and I'd be willing to contribute, but I'm very cheap when it comes to finding accommodation (eg. hostel) and car rental. Despite my flight cabin (typically upgraded) I don't think anyone would be interested in traveling as cheaply as I do.
Count me in nevertheless.

Didn't get how that worked on yahoo. Recently posted a 212 dollar 6938 comfortable base miles skyteam (CO) from Seattle, fare might not be available anymore. SEA-EWR-RSW-EWR-SEA.
Count me in, although YVR based, I like SeaTac better.

I tried searching Yahoo groups on that exact string; nothing found. Can you check and get back to us? We're champing at the bit here, fellah! ;)

Ah, I managed to dig up the signup link:

Check the message board for a possible meet-up, which unfortunately, doesn't offer any BIS miles ... ;)

I usually catch the AA redeye from Seattle to Dallas Sunday evenings when I do a run. Then it is on to the cheapest city on the East Coast (BOS, PHL, TPA, BWI, etc.) Perhaps have lunch and return Monday afternoon.

Bumping this thread back up -- perhaps a mod would be so kind to move it to the discussion subforum.
I have various 2-for-1 certs (AS/DL/AA) that -combined with the right fare- might make for a good run opportunity. Anyone interested in some fall runs ex-PDX?

great timing. I was just searching for a thread like this.
Fairly new here, Gold with the Eskimo code share slut, but will revert to MVP status next year. :( That opens me up for MRs on AA, NW, DL, KL, AF, and LA.

I'm interested in NW MRs. Have enough this year so it won't be until next year. Maybe a couple of back-to-back SEA-DTW-FLL-DTW-LAX-DTW-FLL-DTW-SEAs (or whatever other itinerary comes up).

I would be interested in MRs beginning January in order to make EXP next year.
I anticipate making lifetime PLT in January so I want to wait for the 100% bonus.
