I really did like this slogan from the 80's. I believe if I am correct this is during the days US was doing really well.

Not that it much matters, or that anyone cares, but the US jingle linked above is actually one that was used very little. It was the :30 spot in a campaign that generally pushed for the full :60 spot that was sung by a male vocalist. Somewhere I even have the cassette version from the company of it! (Don't ask.) Personally, I much preferred the longer, more sentimental version as compared to the shorter, jazzed up, Anne Murrayish version.
Told you no one would care.

The "US Air Begins With You" campaign was actually introduced in the Spring of 1991 under the Seth Schofield (President & CEO) and Randy Malin (EVP of Marketing) regim. This was almost two years after the Piedmont merger and during a time when the company began to incurr significant losses. The ad campaign was created by McCann-Erickson in New York, the same company that developed the, "I'd like to teach the world to sing..." campaign for Coca Cola in the 60's/70's. The slogan was designed to have an internal / external theme for both employees and customers.
McCann-Erickson and US Air produced some great television commercials to support the slogan and campaign. One commercial featured a small boy running through a field pretending to fly, as a US B757 fly above him. One of those "feel good" commercials that us aviation enthusiast can all relate to in our younger days. The commercial was filmed at sunrise at the Gainsville Airport in Florida.
The campaign and slogan were basically scrapped in 1995/1196 when Stephen Wolf joined the US Air. I do not recall seeing any US Airways television commercials of any consistancy since then and the old US Airways did not have an official slogan after, "US Air Begins With You".

Okay, so it's a sad life I lead! Had a full day on the road today and was thinking about the lyrics to the longer version. I think I finally have most of it figured out. Can anyone else add??
Here's what I can recall from the full song (1991 campaign):
All across the USA,
For as long as we've been around,
Our passengers are our neighbors;
This country's our hometown.
And we know how hard you work;
we'll work that hard for you.
We believe in putting people first;
and that shows up in everything we do...
'Cause everywhere we go,
every one of us knows,
Everything we do,
U-S-Air begins with you!
Every time we fly,
every mile of sky,
everything we do,
U-S-Air begins with you.

That is pretty impressive that you can remember all of those words. If anyone can find the longer version commercial. Let us know.

I have a video tape of several old US Airways commercials - including several versions of this one. If anyone can tell me how to A) digitize it and b) put it up on a site, i'd be glad to do it.

Does anyone have a copy of the US Air commercial on the tarmac with 100 or so gorund crew members moving the lit directional cones in unison?
