How exactly does this site works? Do they email you when a discount on anything is happening?

Which site is that? I'd say a good bet is to try Priceline. I've seen the Bonaventure and the Omni for the $50-60 range often on Better Bidding as a winning bid. If that's out of your range, you may find some better bids by the airport and redondo beach come up in the $40-$50 range. Try this site for some inside scoop:

No one will email you when a discount is happening. You can, however, subscribe to the forums to receive email updates. It's up to you to make sure you check FlyerTalk regularly to know what's going on on the boards.
