Can anyone in here recomend some kind of converter device, that will give me power for the Airbus power ports to devices such as my Samsung Cell, IPOD, PSP, DS and eventually my Dell Inspiron 9300. Can you please post the name of the product, as well as the link to the website that sells it. What I need is to utilize power from the power ports, and need some kind of converter/plug that will fit in the US Airbus on the one hand, and fit into other numerous devices on the other. Thanks!

get the iGo system at radio shack. It'll do all you want and fit into every power source.

Beware, some after market adapter provides power to the device only and does not recharge the battery.

You know, actually "searching" or doing "research" is such a novel idea. Heck, even a trip to a store selling electronics would yield an answer. Shocking.

The main problem is that EmPower is restricted to 75 watts. Some high-power laptops draw too much. Either they won't work, or will work but won't charge.

For my Dell Latitude, my company ordered me a differnt power supply, this one works as a normal AC but has a separate plug for empower or car -lighter power. It is good, because it is the basic size of my old power cord with an additional adapter... It is a Dell product.

Everything you have asked for, including where to get the things and what they do is readily available on google and its sister site froogle, in probably less time than it takes you to type a post.
There's nothing wrong with a question like "Which works best - iGo or BrandX?" That's what this forum is for. It's not a substitute for doing your homework. Speaking of....

What's shocking about the iGo is that DELL has tweaked their battery so it will not recharge off the iGo (as CAPT Tee referenced). It will keep it running, but the older DELLS (I'll guess 18 to 24 months ago) would let the battery recharge off the iGo. I'm sure DELL is selling their own version of the iGo (as LAX1K mentions) so it's a pretty good marketing scheme on DELLs part.
I'll have to do some research and see if the DELL product offers as wide a variety of tips as iGo does. Or maybe all the other manufacturers will make their batteries so they will not recharge off of anyones adaptor but their own and we'll have to start carrying all those friggin cords again

I don't think Google will actually give a recommendation. Leave the kid alone.

In fact, a google search for "airplane power adapter us" yields three reviews and multiple links to buy the stuff on just the first page. Takes 5 seconds. Thanks for playing.
