I am looking into a flight from BKK-NRT through NGO and wanted to know if 1:15 was enough time to connect in NGO. I have never been to NGO so I don't know the logisitics. The BKK-NGO portion would be on JAL, connecting to an NGO-NRT AA codeshare operated by JAL, then on to the AA NRT-DFW flight. All carry-on.
My main concern is whether we are going to have to go through customs as we are technically connecting to a domestic flight (Tokyo) but will be ticketed through to DFW. I've never done a connection like this before.
Thanks!

You will certainly have to go through immigration and customs, as NGO-NRT is an ordinary domestic flight. While NGO is quite possibly Japan's most efficient airport, 1:15 is still pushing it. How tight is your connection in NRT?

Let's assume this is a regular domestic flight between NGO and NRT (and I see no evidence that it is not a regular domestic flight).
EDITED - Well OK - Now I see that this is not a regular domestic flight (see posts below). So all of my comments about time required for customs and immigration are of no relevance.

I finally had time to wait around for someone at the AA EXP desk. They claim that I DO NOT have to go through customs, just the secondary screening as international to international connections. That was a shock, I am not exactly sure how that will work. He said he is 100% sure, says it clear as day in their Japan guidelines.
Hmmm, I guess we will see.

I know that the NW flights between NRT and NGO operate as if they were international. I'm a little surprised that the same is true for JAL, but not completely shocked.

NRT~NGO? that's secret-zone.
NGO→NRT
JL do not sell this portion separately, you must be connecting from/to somewhere oversea.. JL flight# is Y-class only, code-share has J/Y 2-classes. But, there's No pre-assign seats it is because being strictly controlled by JL.(even though, they usually operate F/C/Y 3-class configured metal) Also, No duty-free shopping allowed in NGO.(watching is the option)
NGO←NRT
Same as above. Plus, If I remember correctly...(flying from oversea and arrived NRT)you do not have to go through immigration in NRT, also duty-free watching allowed in NRT.
Both of them are operating as international-flight, you get 1 EQP per 1 butt-in-seat mile.(2 EQP / 1 BIS for Domestic)

...here it is,
BKK → NGO → NRT → DFW(same day connection)
*No immigration process required as long as you're a transit passenger.
NGO → NRT → DFW(same day connection)
*You need to go through immigration at NGO.
NGO → NRT → DFW(on the next day connection at NRT)
*No processing needed at NGO.
(There should be restrictions of the stop-over. 3-days max?)
