Folks,

I will be in SFO very briefly in mid April midweek. I have been several times before and rather than stay in town this time I was thinking of heading up to Napa for the day.

Does anyone have any recommendations on day tours from SFO to NAPA and or SONOMA?
I don't really want to rent a car as I am travelling solo and figure it might be just as cheap to do an organised tour. Besides I would like to do some tastings.

Thanks in advance ^

My local newspaper ran stories on wine touring yesterday. http://www.newsobserver.com/438/story/436906.html (may require registration or subscription) Here is an excerpt:
A public tour by bus or limo is a solid option for casual tasters or for those who are on a tight time schedule, and there are many to choose from. One firm, California Wine Tours (www.californiawinetours.com) offers daily trips to Napa and Sonoma for $69 per person (plus tax and gratuity). Each tour covers five wineries that have been pre-selected, so it is a very simple, low-stress, cost-effective way to go.

Their website shows an $89 tour starting & ending in SF http://www.californiawinetours.com/tour_sf_pub.html

If you're not too worried about the cost, this one sounds very nice:
