When we stayed in both Kauai and Honolulu, I really enjoyed the Korean BBQ which for some reason we don't have where I live. We will be going to the Big Island and staying at the Waikoloa Marriott. Does anyone know of a Korean BBQ place near there? If not near the hotel, but you know of one anywhere on the Big Island, please advise in case we might be in that vacinity around dinner time. Thanks.

There is one in Waimea (?) in Big Island. I can recall the name but it's in the same shopping mall with McD, across from a HI chain grocery store.
I see you live in MCO, I'm sure there are Korean restaurants but in mixed plate style...

If you end up in Kailua town, there are a lot of them. My personal favorite is Manna's, which is just off of Henry St, in the same shopping center as Safeway. They are unusual, in that they offer a choice of 4 different sides, rather than just mac salad and two scoops of rice. I think that you will find that almost any plate lunch place other than Chinese, will have some Korean dishes on the menu. Have fun on the Big Island.

In Waimea, there's an L&L (which always has Korean main dishes), and there's a relatively new Korean restaurant across the street in KTA shopping center.

Thanks everyone. I'll check these out.
DH - there is one Korean restaurant near me that I know of, but it is not Korean BBQ style. It has mainly traditional Korean dishes, not like the restaurants I went to in Kauai and Honolulu which had choice of meat and 4-5 sides like the one KonaHi mentioned.

In Hawaii, most of Korean restaurants caters towards Hawaii residents (plate lunch style). Outside of HI, such style is very rare...
I'll be getting my plate lunch fix next month. :D

I remember this restaurant (?) back in 2000 but didn't try it out until following visit in 2004. The food and portions were good.
