From a brief search, it looks like you can still smoke in most bars/restaurants in Oahu?

I just want to verify this to aid in my packing for my trip next weekend. I'm looking to hit something like Side Street Inn, so I reckon the clothes I wear there will be a one and done situation. But again...just want to double check. Thanks!

And a poor search I did....thanks for that link! As a non-smoker I'm thrilled.

No problem :) One of the things that folks don't expect (I didn't realize this for awhile) is that it is the City and County of Honolulu. The geographic entity is the island of O`ahu, the political entity co-extensive with the island is the County of Honolulu.

I remember looking at some nautical charts when I was in grade school and was surprised to learn that the City and County of Honolulu not only encompasses the entire island of O`ahu, but the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northwestern_Hawaiian_Islands) (those beyond Ni`ihau). except for Midway.

FlyinHawaiian, I assume you've seen the absolutely fascinating series of stories sponsored by the Honolulu Advertiser concerning the Hokule`a's voyage to the northwest islands?
