Thanks to StSebastian who in a post last summer posted the links below. I checked both of those and can't find anything of consequence that would sell out the Alladin (I'd like to use SPG points or $79 a night special). I thought midweek I could find some good deals (Mar 7-9th) but so far I haven't.

If it was just the Alladin I wouldn't be too concerned, but I'm having a hard time finding a car too.

Any thoughts on what is going on that might cause the high occupancy rates?

My bad then. By Vegas standards those seemed small to me and I didn't think they would have the impact I was seeing. Thanks for the info.

The Rolling Stones are in town that week. I'm flying in for the concert.

Anything over 50K is big, these two are 90K in total.

CES and NAB are enourmous (130-150K)

Are you kidding me? $472 to see a bunch of guys in their 60s run around on stage?

I wouldn't necessarily say 'run'.

i agree
that is what my host a mgm told me when i tried to get another ticket
for a freind
i think they are doing good for what the have put their bodies through thier longggggggggg lifes
go to www.rollingstones.com and check out there tour dates
i would think this much traveling would beat most people down even the first class they go
i will let you know if it would be worth any $ after the show

MGM is selling $7,000 packages with Skyloft rooms for a night and concert tickets if anyone wants to go to the Stones concert in style. :)

For reference, I consider any weekend with conventions having more than 25K people as large enough to influence room rates when I'm looking for rooms. Additionally, you want to check for any smaller conventions that might be at your specific hotel if you have a certain one you want to stay at.

We went a couple years ago. They played the Joint on Friday night
then the MGM on Saturday. They must have had way too much fun the night before at the Joint. They did not sound that good at all. And up close they really looked bad. That was the last time I spent "hard cash" on a Stones gig. As compared to Eagles, U2, Paul McCartney, the Stones are way passed their prime. I got that same feeling watching them at SuperBowl halftime. IMHO. They just have no "polish" left in the music. But I hope I am wrong and you enjoy !!!

back in Nov i made the mistake with the U2 show by going on Sat. and i think Bono strained he voice on Fri's show, but it was a damn great show
the stones will have it looks like 3 days to recuperate from Mexico so hope they take their vitamins and can put on a show ,at least hotel ,food and tickets are comped up front but you know i will give a love donation

I think that's also NASCAR week in Vegas. Interesting crowd.

NASCAR is the second weekend, the 9th to the 12th.

And yes, it's an interesting crowd -- we ran into a number of them last year.

those old farts had so much more life and energy and OLD SCHOOL KICK ... ROCK than a large majority of today's trendy teeny bop one hit wonders .
well worth it even if you had to buy a ticket
excellent show even had a few heads in the crowd with their joy to spread
would go again :p
