I will be staying at the Aqua Palms in Honolulu next week during my Spring Break. I tried searching for information on this property, but it yielded nothing.

Has anyone stayed here? I’ve read excellent reviews on Tripadvisor.com, but I would like a little more information. What are the rooms like? How close is beach access? I understand the property is right next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and thus I can walk through the property to get to the beach. Also, are there any restaurants in the area that I must try? My friend and I will rely on public transportation (we are going sans rental car), so anything to suggest within walking distance?

I know there are already a lot of threads about Honolulu in general, but I am hoping someone can help me with specific information on the Aqua Palms.

Cheers,
Robert

Update:

Just thought I’d share my comments on the Aqua Palms from my recent stay there.

My friend and I were very impressed with this property. We are university students, so we weren’t expecting much from a place that we got for $90/night, but this property was much more than what we expected.

The Aqua Palms is located on Ala Moana Blvd. directly across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Our room was located on the 9th floor and we had nice city views. We actually enjoyed being on the backside of the building, as it seemed quieter than if we had faced Ala Moana.

Our room was nice and it was apparent that the room was recently updated. There was a little kitchenette in our room and it included a little refrigerator, a microwave, as well as several dishes and utensils for our use.

To our surprise, our room rate included breakfast each morning which they delivered to our door with a complimentary newspaper. The breakfast was good and included: tropical juice, a pastry, muffin and yogurt.

The location of this property could not have been better. As I mentioned, it is across the street from the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Each morning my friend and I walked through the Hilton property to get to the beach (all beach access is public). The walk was less than 5 minutes.

We did a lot of walking as we didn’t rent a car and found everything we needed by foot from the Aqua Palms. The huge Ala Moana Shopping Center is a nice 10 minute walk from the Aqua Palms. If you walked in the opposite direction, you would hit Kalakaua Avenue in only a matter of minutes (Cheeseburger in Paradise is on the corner of Ala Moana and Kalakaua). From Kalakaua we walked into Waikiki and enjoyed all of the stores along the way.

All in all, our experience at the Aqua Palms was excellent, and I would recommend this property to anyone. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Waikiki.

Cheers,
Robert
