Hey. I'm Chairman's Preferred, but I have never flown on the Shuttle. Tommarow, I'm going from LGA to DCA in F/C. Is there anyone here who typically flies this route who could give me some incite on F/C on the Shuttle?
Thanks!

I fly it all the time. First is honestly irrelevant on the Shuttle. You will be on the plane for a about 30 minutes. You'll get a bigger seat and the snack basket may get passed around, so you'll get a choice of some snacks (chips, nuts, cookies) etc... The FA may take your coat. Often they do not. You'll get a bottle of water if you ask for it.
Other than that, no difference from the back of the plane. Booze is free on the shuttle all the time, not that it matters when you have less than 15 minutes from the time they serve to teh time they collect the cups to guzzle it!

Also, the boarding process may be a bit iffy: sometimes I've had it strictly by zones, sometimes it's the "people needing assistance and FC pax" first. Regardless, it's a short, usually easy flight. I've always had my coat taken and hung up, and sometimes there is a pre-flight drink offered, sometimes it is just the bottle of water.

I beg to differ. I usually have time to suck down at least two drinks on the shuttles, and not all booze is free. In Y, you still have to pay for spirits, it's just wine and beer they give away.

I believe US only serves beer and wine in Y, and it is complimentary. No mixed drinks are available on shuttle flights (except for f/c). And your coat should always be taken and hung for you! :)

The pre-departure drink is a toss-up, sometimes I get it and sometimes not. If not, 9/10 times a bottle of water is offered. The F/As always take my coat. Snack basket is always offered in F. Spirits should be available in Y.

There's just not enough time to offer spirits in Y on the shuttle. Beer and wine are complimentary so the f/a's don't feel too badly taking it from you when you haven't quite finished. ;) I doubt if you'll ever see mixed drinks being offered in Y unless you're flying with a rerouted CLT or PIT crew that doesn't know any different.

Oops, I guess I was wrong. Then again, I've never flown Y on the shuttle ;).

I was lucky enough to get three Jack and Cokes down on the LGA-DCA shuttle last Monday after the blizzard. But only because we had a pre-flight round which - as posted - is a toss up.
It's such a short flight the only real advantage of being up front is the booze and the seat sizes.

Could you walk off the plane??!

It should, I suppose, but I'd say that about 50% of the time, it is not. An interesting observation: I've been on quite a few flts where the FA's offer to take the men's coats as soon as they see them in F, but then never offer to take the women's. I wouldn't mention it except that it has happened at least 5 or 6 times over this winter, so it's become noticeable.

Last time I flew LGA to DCA I paid $550 for Y. At check-in there were 5 CP (myself included) on the upgrade list waiting for 1 seat. No, I didn't get it.
Good luck.

Hey. I flew the shuttle from LGA-DCA and DCA-LGA both in F/C today. No pre-departure beverages on LGA-DCA, but we did have the return flight. They bring the snack basket around two times. I agree w/ most of the people here; the only real advantages are the seat size and the attention...
