I just called to get seats for my 50 cent ticket to San Diego - as I could not check the seats on line. They would not initially add my FF# to the reservation, and told me that I would not be able to check on my reservation on line. I spoke with a supervisor who told me that I shouldn't expect preferred miles for 50 cents, and to call the credit card company to check on this.

Now it is on the web site that miles will be given for miles flown, the credit card company told me they have no idea how USAirways gives out miles and to speak to a supervisor there (I explained that's who told me to call them), and in any event the tickets on the 50 cent flights were actually purchased for much more by the credit card company. So what is the real deal here??

As usual, when i try to write USAirways on line they only have a form to fill out on a particular flight which was flown and you need to fill in your ticket numbers (which I can't get because there is no access to these reservations on line)

So my question is - has anyone flown the 50 cent flight yet and did miles post?? I will continue to try to contact USAirways on this.

Thanks.

I asked to have my FF# put on the ticket when I was making the reservation - the lady had no problems doing it. Also, you can see the ticket # on the reservation email you get from the cc company. It's toward the bottom of the email, under ETKT: US 037 xxxx

I had no problem adding an FF number to my reservations, possibly the agent you spoke with was mistaken.

I just asked the Dividend Miles Service Center and learned this:

50 cent flights will earn:
1. Full miles for the flown itinerary.
2. All miles flown will be Preferred/elite qualifying.

I've flown a $0.50 flight and can confirm that the miles and upgrades work just like a normal, paid ticket. I recieved actual segments, actual miles, preferred bonus miles, and preferred e-upgrades clearing at the 7-day CP window. Was a nice trip, and a great MR. :D

If you didn't have your DM number put on the reservation at ticketing, you can call US Airways and get it added.

Is it bad if I haven't yet received a confirmation email for SFO? Should I call them and make sure?

If they gave you the confirmation number over the phone, you can bring up your reservation on www.checkmytrip.com and make sure everything is good to go.

Has your credit card been charged for the companion ticket?
