Loooking to make another family trip this summer, but hoping to find a good bargain like in the past. And by bargain I don't just mean the cheapest seat, I'm definatly willing to pay a little more to get more, like on CO you get room to breath while sitting a TV screen in every seat & food, definatly worth more than say Suntrips where your cramed into a sardine can and get an cold sandwich & an apple. I'm free to travel from most any major city to get a good deal, LAX, OAK, LAS, PHX, IAH, SAN, SNA, etc. Dates are also flexible, May-Aug. Anybody seen any incredible deals for 5? Where/when should I be checking?

Thanks for any suggestions, or any other forum this should be in.

This is probably the right forum for a post like this.

You might start off by looking at the major sites as in the following:
http://beta.itasoftware.com (log in as guest)
or http://www.kayak.com

That should give you a good guess as to what the price would cost you now.

Then, stay tuned for the fare sales by the airlines. This may or may not happen for this summer (or it already has--I haven't been keeping a good eye on it). Hawaiian/Aloha usually offer some pretty good fare deals and the majors match on occasion.

Typically, the rates go lower after spring break until just before school gets out (April 20ish-June 8th). Goes up for peak summer and then goes down again at the end of the summer before school starts until just before Xmas (excl holidays like Thanksgiving) (Aug 28th-Dec 15)...Hope this helps...
