Hi All,

We had a choice between Kapalua and Wailea (both Renaissance hotels on award points!!) for our upcoming trip to Maui (second time, stayed in Ka'anapali last time) and chose the latter largely because we heard it would be sunnier and drier (plus Kapalua seemed more snooty).

A few questions:

1) We are not golfers...anything other recommendations for things to do in the area?

2) We'd like to go to Lanai one day and Molokai the next...I know this is easier to do staying in Lahaina, but what days are best/worst to do this (we'll be there Monday-Monday).

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I could have gotten a misinformed res agent but I just called to make a res at the Ren Wailea. I've stayed there several times and really like the property. The rep told me the property is in the process of being sold.

Lanai is an easy ferry ride on the Expeditions Ferry. It's much easier to do the ferry rather than fly.

Yes, it is being sold and I believe they will not be accepting reservations past June.

However, we are staying in March.

The buildings-n-grounds presently named the Ren Wailea are sold and re-flagged about every 4-5 years.
