We have a trip planned to Mexico Feb 10th. I understand that a birth ceritificate is sufficient for travel to and from Mexico until 2008.

I will be traveling on my passport but my wife has a birth certificate in her maiden name (we've been married for just a few years). Is there going to be an issue if the airline ticket is issued in her married name, but her birth certificate in her maiden name? Would bringing along a marriage certificate help?

My wife and I just returned from Mexico. Her passport is in her maiden name and her photo ID is in her married name. They did ask for a copy of our marriage certificate, which we brought for just such an occasion. With those documents, we didn't have any problems. I would assume as long as you have a copy of your marriage certificate you won't have any problems.

-Just a piece of advise I picked up on these boards- take a color copy of your passport with you, and keep it seperate from your passport in case your passport is lost/stolen.

You need to bring an original birth certificate not a copy. They also like seals. If you only have a copy, I have been successful in just notarizing the copy as a true and correct copy. Again, they are really impressed with seals.
