I've tried all the obvious routings with Skyteam and OneWorld but are there any other possibilities eg: routing with an LCC to Canada and then with Zoom/AirTransat to Glasgow?

Alternatively, does anybody know if it could be cheaper to take an LCC from ATL to another US city to pick up a bargain fare?

Thanks for your help

Are you o/w or return & when do you plan travelling?

CO & DL have some good fares via EWR & LGW respectively.

I've been researching flights from DUB to Canada & AT/Zoom aren't much cheaper than the standard carriers

ive thought about taking an lcc to a different hub then flying a major to europe. but the only time ive seen these cost effective is when they are having a huge sale. sometimes you can get southwest for cheap but then you have to figure out taxes time, different airports and hassle at the hub, sometimes the cost difference if any is worth the time and energy. do some searching on the LCC's sites and on the majors for different itineraries.
