Now I have not flown US for quite a while (November I think) and therefore not been in the LGW Club recently. I have just been looking at the Prioirity Pass website and it states:

Gatwick Airport South Terminal – US AIRWAYS CLUB
Location: Airside - Opening Hours: 06.30 - 12.30 daily.
Conditions: All immediate family members can enter a US Airways Club with the member, but the number of persons who are not immediate family will be limited to two (2) at any one visit. Cardholder must be 18 years of age or older. Cash bar, complimentary soft drinks. Non-smoking.

A cash bar? Is this correct? Was always free whilst I flew with US. Can anybody confirm this one way or the other?

Two months ago it was free. I can't imagine this to be correct. Maybe something erroneously copied from other club info, where they do charge domestically. They actually shouldn't be calling it a club. It's the Envoy Lounge. Membership is not needed, just an Envoy BP.

It's actually a Club that happens to be used as an Envoy Lounge (see the Club Locations info on the US website for more info). Of course, the Arrivals Lounge is only available to Envoy pax, and I think CPs who pay a fee (can't recall if GPs and SPs can get access by paying the fee too).

Okay, the fact that I didn't know it was a club, and that one could be flying in coach (gasp! ) and still gain admission only goes to prove the legitimacy of my screenname! :D
