They are having a little hurricane down in El Salvador.
I talked to an agent in the US who basically read to me the memo she received about all of this.... they are booking tickets over the phone for those having web problems and waiving all the fees.

Works for me.
Opens in a new window. Includes tails of an HP and US plane, as well as an FAQ about the merger.

Great find - here is what everyone has been wanting to read:
Customers
With the creation of the first full-service nationwide airline, customers will enjoy simplified pricing across an expanded east/west network along with access to international destinations. Both airlines’ frequent flyer programs will ultimately be combined once the merger is complete. Members of both programs will retain all of their miles and elite status designation and will receive similar benefits in the merged airline’s frequent flyer program. Other customer amenities will include access to airport clubs, assigned seating and First Class upgrades.

Before the merger HP was in the process of designing and implementing a new site format based on the look and feel of their AWA vacations page.
Take a look...

I doubt they'd throw all that work away. With this merger the launch date is most likely pushed back in order to change the airline name and add info pertaining to the US half of the airline.

Interesting note - around time the merger news was hitting the wires (say around 5:30 p.m. EDT) - the merger website (accessed it fromt he US website) did have the "barbell" reference in the site address. Of course, later they substituted "merger" for "barbell."
