Tad's Broiled Steaks

Hello. Could anyone recommend decent restaurants with waitstaff that are located in North or Central Jakarta? Thank you and terima kasih. I will be going there in a few days, and am looking for a place that unlike the street stalls, will hopefully not make me sick for a week...

Only limited Jakarta experience, but generally shopping malls and country clubs seem to offer upmarket places for Indonesian food. The poshest Indonesian lunch I've had in Jakarta was at the clubhouse of a suburban golf course while the tastiest maybe at a fashionable noodle place called Chopstix at the Plaza Indonesia shopping mall.
The chinese dominance in business circles is also visible in the number of high level Chinese eateries at hotels & malls or you could visit one of the "business club" type restaurants aiming at the thousands of Korean and Japanese business people living in Jakarta.
Many restaurants here that won't make you sick. :)
Maybe you can let us know what cuisine do you prefer, so that we can come up with some suggestions.
