Hi!

It´s not that easy to find information about this topic on the web. I hope it´s OK to post this in the diningbuzz forum!

In which Asian countries am I (20 years old) allowed to purchase and drink alcoholic beverages / spirits?

I´m pretty sure that 18 is the legal age in Japan and Hong Kong. What´s with Singapore, Malaysia, China,...?

Thank you very much!

PS: I´m not a binge-drinker like many guys of my age! I just enjoy a nice cocktail at a nice bar from time to time!

been like that for years.. it's a coming-of-age thing and tradition (they have coming of age day which is a national holiday)

China has no age limits, you can just show up and they won't even ID you at all.

Growing up in HK, I remember I was told 16. Then they changed it at some point to 18, then now I think it's 21.

Thailand doesn't have a minimum age, but I have found you have to be 20+ to get into some clubs.
