I just checked to see how full flight #1470 (PHL to SJU on May 3rd) is up front and found that my wife and I have the whole front cabin to ourselves. I know this will change but it prompts the question: Anyone ever have a whole FC cabin to themselves?

This happened to me once on NW.. I was all alone in FC and unfortunately, I wasn't feeling very well. Needless to say, I got lots of sympathy and good attention from the flight attendant.

Don't worry - you'll have company by the time the flight departs.

Never alone, but I have observed that the fewer folks there are in F, the friendlier / chattier they seem to be. Generally (but not always) a good thing.

I flew alone in F on a A321 18 months or so ago on a JAX - PHL flight. Why was I alone? It was a Sunday 6am departure! :p Even then, US had scaled back the food to essentially nothing, so I think I had a breakfast bar (blueberry, thank you) and snoozed the whole way.
I flew a ROA - RIC on a US DC-9 once as the SOLE PASSENGER! That was a little nutty. The flight was ROA - RIC - LGA, also on a Sunday evening.

I've been the sole revenue passenger in First a couple of times on US.... a Saturday evening PHL-JAX B737-400 a couple months ago (the crew moved a non-rev pilot up front as well, after asking if I minded, which I didn't). I've also been alone in the front on a RDU-CLT flight.
I've been one of just a couple on several flights, including the Sunday morning JAX-DCA B737-300 this week. However, coach was completely full. This tells me two things: 1.) US Airways is filling flights. 2.) US is filling flights with people who probably don't fly the airline very much, as they were all in the back.

I've been alone a number of times, much more before the free upgrades for elites, of course. They're usually short hops in the northeast and/or at late/early hours. Once the FA got me my drink, dropped the entire snack basket in the empty seat next to me, and said to ring if I needed anything--she was going to go help in back. It was awesome!

This happens most often on leisure routes.
Over New Years, I was able to upgrade my wife and I on a recent trip on AA (I know - wrong fourm) despite my status having lapsed there (used to be AAirpass) on a recent flight from MIA to CUR. I used left-over e-upgrades in my account, which I have been trying to use up for some time. The cabin was also virtually empty, with just 2 other PAX.

US Airways tends to overbook this flight in Coach a lot. Most likely, you will have plenty of passengers around you. For quite a while now, US Airways has been selling cash upgrades on this market.

I was alone in F once, but not on US. I had an entire F cabin on a BA 747 flight from PHL to LHR. Having the F cabin to myself wasn't nearly as strange as having the fully prepared F lounge to myself in PHL! Wonderful!!

Your BA experience sounds like my similar one on Qantas F from MEL-LAX. Me, my travel companion and just one other fellow in a 14 seat, VERY comfy, F cabin for 14 hours (747-400ER). Having travelled in BA F once, the layout and seats are nearly identical. Must be a OneWorld thing...
The service was more than simply 'attentive'. It was spectacular.
Oddly, in all my gazillion trips on US - many in F - I can't think of a time I was ever alone or even close to alone. I may have been 1 of 6 once in a 12 seat cabin. That might be the extent of it.

In May of last year, my wife and I were the ONLY two passengers in the "F Class" cabin on the A330 from FCO-PHL. The rest of envoy was packed full and F stayed empty for the rest of the flight, seemed such a waste considering how heavy the loads on this flight usually are. We must have intimidated them. ;)

I've been on a couple of flights by myself in first, but there's one US Air plane that only has 4 seats in first that makes you feel that you're almost alone :D .
But actually, that plane kinda makes you feel that you're in coach since there's barely a distinction between the two classes. Then again, I've tried to avoid US Air first lately since I'm mad at their service... all they do well is serve that cookie. What I dont like is that I talk to people around me and most of the people didnt even pay for the first class, they usually get bumped up somehow.

I had it to myself once on a 737 on the last leg of an extremely busy flying time for me. At the initiation of the safety briefing, I told the F/A that he really didn't have to do that if he didn't want to. He asked me where the exits were and after I pointed out the doors at the front, wing exits, and doors in the rear using the exact wording they do in the announcement he said I was good to go. He then went to taking care of whatever other pre-flight stuff needed to be done. I think this was when the curtains were still there, so it didn't freak out someone in the remainder of the plane worried that I wasn't going to know what to do if the oxygen masks drop from the compartment above your head...

Back in the good old days when US Airways served real meals in transcontinental F, I once found myself in F urrounded by no other passengers on an Airbus A319 aircraft. It was a tuesday night and the flight was going from Charlotte to San Diego. There were about 20 passengers in Coach. Of course, the F/A's were extremely happy :).

BA FIRST is usually empty on the YVR - LHR - YVR market. I have experienced it myself a few times. It was great to have the FIRST Purser and Cabin Service Director look after me. I love BA.

My dear friend with the silver spoon embedded in his mouth - get real! A huge % of the F seats on US Airways these days are filled with folks who "paid" for their upgrades via many thousands of miles on the road (they did't get "bumped up somehow" by some thoughtful GA!)
I just wish there weren't so many $!#@#$ CPs flying RDU-PHL and RDU-CLT (takes some of the shine off my Gold card)

Sadly, they don't even serve the hot chocolate chip cookies anymore. Just cold, pre-wrapped cookies that are enclosed in the IFC box. But to keep this post on topic: Was 1 of 2 on a 737 PHL-AVP once.

Funny, I was on a flight (don't want to say which one for fear of getting crew in trouble) recently and it was the strangest scenario. It was a connecting flight, and I had actually misconnected due to a late inbound. I went to the gate, and amazingly, the flight I was supposed to connect on actually returned to the gate due to MX. I was allowed on the plane. When we finally were ready to go (3 hours later, mind you), the number 1 said "I'm supposed to give you the safety demo, I'm sure you don't need it though (as you are CP) right?" I gave her a wink and off we went.
Let's just say it was an A330 and most of the crew was ex-PSA and the BEST I've ever had.

I was solo in FC from DEN-CLT a few years ago. About 45 minutes from CLT the FA poured the last drops of the bottle of red into my (at the time) glass, gave me a look and said "should I pop another?" :o

I have had it happren a couple of times, on or near holidays ie xmas eve late or early xmas. I once had a NW flight where I was the only paasnger. The flight was going ot be late and everyone was rebooked, even missing my conection it was faster to stay on the flight, and catch the next one out in the morning.

I showed some restraint. I didn't have another glass until I boarded my connecting flight to MIA. :D
This was about the same time that US was taking on the A330's with the much touted Intl. FC service. Steve Wolf was a big on having very nice wine in FC and, for a brief period of time, that effort trickled to the front cabin of the domestic FC service. On the aforementioned DEN-CLT flight they were actually serving a decent (drinkable) pinot noir!
