Okay, Im becomming quite the savvy US Flyer thanks to all of you! I managed to obtain a Space Positive voucher from a friend who heard I was going on US Airways (got to love my College Professor, he's now considered a friend), The voucher says :

"You may call to upgrade your reservation no earlier than the day before flight departure"

I'm flying on Thursday, would you interperate this as to mean I can call and reserve my F seat at Midnight tonight (Wednesday morning, technically)?

Also, Im using http://www.flyaow.com/classcwt.htm to keep checking on F availablity and right now my upgrade chances look pretty good, however I have a connection in CLT, the outbound flight from PHL to CLT shows F1 (Cabin class: F1 P0 A0 Y9 N9 B9 H9 Q9 V9 L9 W9 M9 S9 T0 K0) yet, if I follow through as if Im about to book the tickets, it shows 3 F seats to choose from, how can this happen?

To answer your second question - most likely not everyone who has a First Class reservation/ticket has been assigned a seat yet.

Try calling right away! Based on the very tight F inventory, please understand that you may not make it into F. The component you CAN'T see on that screen is the number of Chairman's Preferred and other Gold/Silver members who would trump you in the lineup for upgrades.

Not trying to burst anyone's bubble here, just keeping expectations in line. Also, it's important to know that your certificate is likely not pulling inventory out of F, but rather out of P (although that seems to change everytime I think I've figured it out!!). P is showing 0 now, but perhaps with the cert you are holding, you can call and be placed on a waitlist for the UG. Also important for you to know: when you get to the airport, don't be shy. Tell every single person you encounter with US that you want to confirm that you are on the waitlist for upgrade to F --- they will each look it up and let you know your status.

Keep trying......but more than likely you'll have to wait until the flight boards before you'll be upgraded.

I called in, I got us waitlisted. I was very nice to the woman (who left me on hold for a while). She told me to MAKE SURE I call back at Midnight and "it looks promicing" she said "at midnight we can assign you a seat"
