Will be coming in from Australia and transferring to USAir first domestic.
Is there a club that I can access at LAX and will it have a SHOWER?
I am *G if that helps and as mentioned, travelling first on USAir, connecting from international flight.
Thanks.

Not unless something has changed...
In December, I flew Qantas FC from MEL-SYD-LAX and had 3 hour layover before USAir FC flight to PHL. Once through immigration and baggage re-check, I went to Qantas counter and asked. The CR's were nice, but basically came down to USAir is not a "real" partner with Qantas - if I were flying on American I would have had access to facilities, but not with USAir.
Spent the time outside walking around and then at the(now closed) USAir club "freshening up" with the limited facilities.

Depending on how much time you have between flights, I understand that the Four Points at LAX offers dayroom rates (may have changed since then). So, if you're willing to pay for the dayroom, you can have a place to freshen up and catch a nap. Otherwise, as nyc_flying_gal pointed out, you have no free options.

As a *G, I would think that CorporateFlyer would have access to the United lounge, no? I was wondering about this myself since I will also be passing though LAX later this year. Do they have showers?
Personally, a club would do for a 4 hour layover. But for an 8 hour layover, I think I'd opt for a day room by the airport.

A NZ *G does have access to the United Red Carpet Club, but there's no way to get to it when flying US Airways out of LAX as the two airlines are in separate terminals, and the United club is past security.
The US Airways Club (also a Star lounge) at LAX Terminal 1 closed recently, but neither it nor the United RCC had/have showers.
You could try priceline.com for a hotel room near the airport; typically US$40-45 plus tax (around $50-$55 total) gets you a 3-star hotel with frequent shuttle bus service to the terminals.

Are you a Qantas Club member? If so, you can use the Qantas Club/Admirals Club at LAX, which has shower facilities. If you're not a member, you can also purchase a $50 day pass.

Can I use even if not flying onwards with Qantas or AA?

Theoretically you could, but without a T4 BP, they will probably bounce you or ask you how you got past the joke that is "security". You could schedule a meeting at the Qantas Club and Qantas would give you a pass for security. There are nice showers there. I think you need to schedule this meeting 24 hours in advance.
An easier way would be to book a fully-refundable AA ticket, go to the club, show your Qantas Club card for access, get a shower, refund your ticket, and then take your US flight.
