Anyone have a suggestion for a good, moderately-priced, restaurant that can accomodate a group of 14 on a Sunday evening in Philadelphia?

Whatever you do, all 14 of you need to get a cheesesteak for lunch. ^ My favorite is Pat's in South Philly.

Budakahn (spelling may be off) might be a bit pricey, but has a great long table in a dramatic setting that could hold 14. It's very theatrical and trendy, but still Philadelphia, so comfortable.

Yeh, same question but for 10 on a Saturday or Friday night since I know some places are closed Sunday. Budakhan is a bit out of my price range.

And blech to Pats :) I don't have steaks often but I went with a friend in December and it tasted terrible compared to some of the other places. I still am partial to the original Tony Lukes on Oregon.

Pat's is absolutely disgusting. Tony Luke's or John's Roast Pork are the best shops accessible from center city.
Roy's on 15/Sansom has a nice room upstairs and they have a $30 prix fixe menu. They can also be reserved at www.opentable.com (not sure for about 15 people).
Another moderately-priced place that would be open on Sunday is Penne at the Inn at Penn. They have a semi-private room in the back. This is up in University City but a quick bus/taxi ride up from center city. Something for everyone and very moderate prices.

Get your collective butts out of Philly and go up to Bucks County. Three possiblities, depending on what you want and how much you are willing to shell out:

Goodnoe's in Newtown: Take a look at http://www.goodnoe.com/ -- this will be the least expensive.

Lavender Hall Restaurant in Newtown -- in a beautiful old Bucks County stone house. Its been many years since I have been there but the food was always tremendous.

Odette's in New Hope. (Formerly Chez Odette until Odette passed away.) It is currently closed but will re-open in May. Take a look at http://www.odettes.com/

I had a personal duel this evening, Pat's vs Geno's. The winner was .................

Pat's

I had Wiz wit from both and have to say Pat's won by a landslide. I tried Pat's first around 5:00PM. I tried Geno's around 6:45PM. With all due respect, Geno's left a dissatisfied taste in my mouth that I had to get another Pat's Wiz wit around 7:15 PM to satisfy my tastebuds.

Pat's is the place RD will also recommend!!!

:td: to both those cheesesteak establishments. ^ to Tony Luke's on Oregon, Jim's on South St. and Dalessandro's Steaks in Roxborough.

To ExtrAAordinaire, sorry I can't help w/ your request. Have you tried Chuck E. Cheese? ;)

Irish Pub. Can't vouch for the food - don't expect a 5 star dinner. But they do large groups extremely well and the service is good.
