Any recommendations? I was leaning towards the Raffles Grill...

Anthony Bourdain sold out already, wow. Look for the Mankansutra guide to Singapore chowing. A very good guide that introduces one to the cuisines served in Singapore.

A copy of the 2003 or 2004 edition was floating around somewhere, I remember borrowing it and sending it back to a FT'er.

Thanks for the tip!

Bourdain's food is not worth going in for - it's just the 'celebrity factor'.

To answer my own question (even the concierge at the RC didn't know much about it!) :

went to Raffles 'le Grill' and had a sublime lunch. US$40 for a 3 course meal plus coffee and petits fours, anyone. Oh, and pay by Amex and get 15% discount - all this for Michelin star level cooking. Highly innovative - enjoyed it considerably more than the US$200 meal at le Normandie in Bangkok last week. Very good service and nice atmosphere too. ^

Try the Massandra dessert wine, if you haven't already - it's great stuff.
