In June we will be travelling overland from Kirkenes to Helsinki. Where will I find information on the bus from Kirkenes to Karasjok and Rovaniemi, and then the train from Rovaniemi to Helsinki. Also, what are the prices and do I have to book.

The second part is the easiest, Rovaniemi-Helsinki has daily trains as far as I know. Look att the VR (http://www.vr.fi/heo/eng/index.html) website.
Altough, the first part I'm not completly sure of... According to the tourist info website of Kirkenes (http://www.kirkenesinfo.no/index_anreise.htm) there is a bus service between Rovaniemi and Kirkenes, with a small break (of 10 km's;)) between the two border cities Ivalo and Neiden. altough it does not seem to be a convenient way of travel.

I'll answer the first bit then: Finnish bus conglomerate Matkahuolto (http://www.matkahuolto.info/index.jsp?lang=en) runs a daily direct bus in summer only from Kirkenes (Kirkkoniemi in Finnish) to Ivalo.
