I was watching the tv news tonight. There were reports from passengers who finally retrieved their luggage and found that items were missing. I would venture a guess that these missing items were stolen. US airways cannot blame the weather for this crime. Interesting enough it surely cannot blame the employees who did not show up! So who is left to be accountable? The 'dedicated employees" who did show up to work. There is no excuse for this crime. US airways must immediately report these incidents to the police and if it does not, it is a partner to this crime.

You are assuming that the loss(es) actually occured! Maybe just maybe some rather correct and very pi**ed off people, are claiming these thefts as a means of getting some $$ for what they were forced to go thru. Sorry I did over hear some people who had to indure PHL last weekend talking about such action among themselves.
I was not on any US flight nor was I suppose to be last week. Although I was toying witha flight on 12/24 PHL-CLT but thankfully decided too late to go and wasnt willing to pay $400+.

I the luggage destination tags were ripped off (as some allege were), then US had to open the bag to identify the owner..........stuff could have been "misplaced" by the hard working, and now underpaid US staff.

And let us not forget that the TSA rummages through bags as well.

I was at PHL on Dec 24th and there were hundreds of bags sitting on the floor in baggage claim. It looked easy for anyone from the street to walk in and start taking things too.
