It's just enough that I hate to toss them, but not enough to do much with in the near future.

I'm not a poweruser of this board, but look forward to learning more. I just got Medallion for the first time on DL and am excited about that.

See you over in the SkyMiles forum!

Welcome to BHM...I hope you aren't looking for the 'T' or any other public trans that makes sense. :td: As far as the miles go...I'm just hoping I can find a way to unload the 60,000 I've got. I was hoping to fly with them, but if there's no airline I guess that won't be possible. Someone needs to find the magic point transfer trail to get them on another carrier at close to 1:1 value.

I just ordered a boatload of magazines with the 12K I had left.

What a sad way to end it all. I started with Piedmont way back when and accumulated over 400K lifetime with them before US Air came along. Then it began dwindling. I flew US Airways metal on a United ticket a few weeks ago, and it's trully sad to see what's happened, and what is likely going to.

Is there something I missed? I have around 9, 10 and 11,000 in 3 separate accounts . Are they expiring? I just looked in my account and there wasn't an expiration date. Again, clueless in NY.

Where have you been for the past few days? There is a very modest chance that US will be gone soon. Look at all the other threads.

Well what is everyone transfering their miles to if not using them for awards?

Miles are not transferrable to other accounts except via points.com for USAirways Visa cardholders only--& at a loss of 80--90%.
The only reasonable thing to do is to order awards on Star Alliance partners--& even that is not totally safe.

I'm wondering the same thing... I don't see any mention of an expiration date on the USAir website. I have 60,000 Dividend Miles, and now I not only have to worry about the airline going belly up, but also that they will/may expire even if they stay in business??!! Say it ain't so!

To use points.com you need a BoA US Air Visa card and than you have even the possibility to make 35 $ (minus fees) out of your miles by converting them to nesteggz. But that is only if you are really desperate ot get ride of them.

I had 17,500 - I just went to their website and donated them to charity - US Air splits any donation equally between Make A Wish and Save The Children - the latter is helping with the Tsunami relief efforts.

1. Any DM miles you earned pre-1999 or so are immortal -- they never expire.
2. Any DM miles you have earned after that date will expire, but only if there is no activity at all in your DM account for three (3) years or more. Any activity gives them all an additional three years of life.

Any awards you may have taken certainly used the "immortal" miles first.

I used the last of my "immmortal miles"(my last USair flight was in 1995) last week to buy magazines.

I used to love US Air but when I started flying Intl to Asia and South A, they didn't work out for me.
